ABOUT THE ARTIST
Athena Lindbeck is from Sacramento, California, and a graduate from William Jessup University with a BA in Visual and Fine Arts concentrating in Arts Management. While at Jessup, Athena worked in the Art department overseeing peers, organizing art shows, creating marketing materials, as well as leading meetings and assisting head faculty. Athena found a love for graphic design, and in her final senior semester of Spring 2022, she landed an internship for the FCCC (Foundation for California Community Colleges) as a graphic designer. During this time, she worked with various clients and schools to create marketing materials such as email templates, social media posts, flyers, posters, logos and header/footer designs for student surveys and questionnaires. Since then, she has had numerous roles working with clients to create logos, marketing materials, and craft successful brand expression. She currently works for an ecommerce brand Flipcost, as a social media Marketing manager. Athena always seeks to tell a story within her Art. She often uses unique color schemes, whimsical themes and fonts to capture and distinguish the unique story within a specific brand.
ARTIST STATEMENT
Throughout my life I have been told of my excellent communication skills. I believe this skill also comes to life within my art as well. I dabble in many various mediums of art including graphic design/digital art, watercolor, acrylic, mixed media, and drawing, however my current focus is marketing and brand management. Within each medium of art, my main goal is to tell a story to the viewer that shifts their attention away from the world and gets them to dive into something that is unlike anything they have seen before. Specifically in a brand, I want the brand's story to be evident and effective, in a way that is also inviting to its audience. Simultaneously, this design also needs to be bold, while also being clean and professional. In any work, it is always about finding the perfect balance between what is ordinary and what is unexpected and pushing the boundaries to create something that is beautifully rare, that connects to each viewer in a fresh new way.
